Digit-al Dozen, Bling - Day 2

It's a week of Bling for the Digit-al Dozen!   While I should be having a lot of fun with this challenge, I'm finding it a little difficult for some reason.  Not sure if this is classified as bling, but  here's what I came up with for Day 2 regardless!

We had the weirdest weather over the weekend; snow, hail, wind, then sunny skies...and a few minutes later, snow, hail, rain and wind again.....you name it, we experienced it!  So when I was looking for a base polish, I wanted something on the brighter side that at least reminds me it is spring even if the weather doesn't seem like it.  Also wanted something that would go with a lot of colours for the stones I knew I'd be adding to bling up the mani.  Decided upon Elevation Polish Sarychev; this is three coats, no top coat.

Love, love, love this...makes me want to buy up every single Elevation jelly that exists!

While I did three coats because I'm not a fan of VNL on me and was taking pix which always seems to make it more visible, two coats is probably good for everyday wear.  Even three coats, there's just the hint of VNL in the pix but not visible IRL.

Stamped using white Konad special polish using Big SdP Q.

Added the bling!  Started with assortment of larger size stones for the larger size images.

Filled in the rest of the blasts with smaller stones in assortment of colours.

This is pretty funky cool.....while it isn't necessarily a design I would want to wear everyday, I do have a friend who loves flashy nails who I think would love this on her nails.

Topped with a generous coat of SV to secure the stones.

Unfortunately, I missed Day 1 and am not entirely sure if I'll get around to doing a make up post or not.  I guess it will depend on how many bling mani's I can come up with....any suggestions?

Thanks for looking....here's the other ladies Day 2 bling mani's!

Elevation Polish Freeway Park

I've been enamoured with Elevation Polish since I first picked up Stay Behind, Catch a Wave a few months ago.  During one of the December restocks, I was able to pick up a few others; this is one of them, Freeway Park.

What you are seeing is one coat....yes, one coat!  In hindsight, I perhaps should have applied two just for coverage on a few areas that didn't cover that well the first time like at the cuticle on the ring finger (my fault, not the polish) but because I knew I'd be stamping over it, I left.  The pix below do not have topcoat.

Here's a bottle pix of Freeway Park.  Feel free to click to enlarge.

I decided to stamp over Freeway Park using newly purchased Pueen plates.  When I was looking through them trying to decide which plate to use, I noticed that there are a whole lot of circles in the bunch, so decided to do a skittle of stamps using them; stamping polish is white Konad special polish.  Image plates used were Pueen02 (index and ring), Pueen04 (thumb), Pueen13 (middle) and Pueen08 (pinky).

The stamping on my index finger wasn't 100% (my fault because it stamped well on the other hand) which I touched up with a brush.  While my poor touch up is noticeable in macro, it wasn't so much IRL and I wore this for a couple of days.  Topped with SV.

A couple of these images reminded me of the funky 70's vibe and I could see myself using them again.....particularly the images on the thumb, ring and middle finger.  I also liked how large of an area that the base polish can be seen in the these fingers.......great for some future layering and stamping!

Elevation Polish is available via Etsy and Big Cartel; those who already have discovered Elevation Polish like Fingers will already know that she has restocks on the 7th and 22nd of each month.

Pueen image plates can be bought via eBay and Amazon.  Unfortunately, on eBay where I got my set, international shipping isn't available, I'm not sure if this will be changing or not. (Edit:  I seen that international shipping is now available but shipping is fairly expensive).  My set of image plates came with two 22 plates and was missing 23; however, I contacted the seller who mailed me out a replacement plate.

Thanks for looking!

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

....we've had rain since last Friday as a result of Hurricane Sandy and I've had enough!   But I thought it would be a good time to use some new plates and polishes and turn them into a little rain themed mani!

Started with a base of two coats of Essie Where's my Chauffeur?  This is from the Essie 2012 Winter collex.  The pix below does not have topcoat.

Added a coat of Elevation Polish Catch a Wave, then topped with SV.

Loving this polish!! Do you notice the round glitters?  Click on the images for a better look.  I chose this polish as part of the rain theme as the round glitters represented water droplets (well, in my head anyway!), not to mention the water reference in the name.

Bottle pix.

Elevation Polish is available via Big Cartel and the shop opens on the 7th and 22nd of the month.  I was able to snag this awesome polish on eBay for $12, which I thought was a pretty good price considering sometimes the eBay auctions for some of the polishes get pretty high!  But this obviously was an unknown gem and I lucked out!

Did some rain-themed stamping using new plates received from Nailways.  All images used are from Snowwhite-Weather Forecast, using black Konad special polish, except the umbrella on the thumb, which is Apipila 03.

A couple pix of the packaging as received from Nailways.

Information regarding where to order Nailways has been updated in my 'Where I Get My Stuff' tab on the home page.

Topped with a coat of SV to finish (first pix shown).

As much as I'm griping about the rain during the past week, I can only stress that we were relatively unscathed by Hurricane Sandy while many were not as fortunate.  While we've had rain for days, the night the storm hit, the rain was hard and the winds fierce; we had some light flickering but our hydro stayed on and there was no flooding or substantial property damage.  Unfortunately, many other areas were horrifically affected.  My thoughts are with you if you are in an area ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.
