Zoya Micky and Hazel - Swatches and Nail Art

It's a week of firsts for me, continuing with my first ever Zoya! I've been dying to get my hands on some Zoya for a long time now so I was really happy when Nail Care Club offered to send me some.

Micky is from the Summer 2013 Stunning collection. It's a rose pink creme with hidden shimmer! I've said it before, I love me some hidden shimmer. It's not very evident unless you're in the sunshine, but I love it anyway! I used 3 coats and top coat. It was a little bit streaky to start with but the last coat sorted it out. It's so glossy!

Hazel is from the Summer 2013 Irresistible collection. It's a silvery blue foil with lots of gold flakes, which makes for a unique polish in my collection! I used 2 coats.

I love the combination of silver and pink, so I did some quick nail art using both polishes and some striping tape.

Pretty happy with my first Zoya! I love the bottles and the fact they all have girl's names, too.

You can buy Zoya in the UK from Nail Care Club, which is the official UK distributor. They're a little bit of luxury at £10.50 a bottle, but it's reflected in the quality. Do you own any Zoya? I want to get my hands on the rest of these collections!

piCture pOlish Geometric nails feat Malt Teaser & Metallic Rush

Hi girls, I hope you've all had a great Memorial Day.
My weekend has been kind of busy, I've been swatching almost non stop so I have tons of new things to show you very soon, including nail art.
Today's post is a little different than my usual piCture pOlish posts because it's "just" a nail art and not a regular review. I don't know why but when I saw Metallic Mush I instantly wanted to pair it with Malt Teaser in a geometric design.

I started with two thin coats of Malt Teaser, a gorgeous creamy warm taupe, added black lines and then filled some of them with Metallic Mush.
Malt Teaser applied like a dream, almost completely opaque on the first coat.
Metallic Rush would require two thin coats for full coverage but it looked perfect and intense here with one quick stroke.

Well that's it for today, I hope you liked this nailart. Thanks for visiting girls!

piCture pOlish Malt Teaser and Metallic Rush retail for AU$10 and can be purchased directly from piCture pOlish.com.au or through their international network.

For more information, please refer to piCture pOlish.com.au or piCture pOlish on Twitter Facebook.

Born Pretty Store Review - Nail Art Foil

Today I'm going to show you some nail art foil from Born Pretty Store!

The foil comes in a set with 12 individual pots, 6 bronze and 6 gold.

Click the jump to read the rest of the post!

The foil sheets have flecks of other colours too. The gold has bits of blue and green, and the bronze has bits of gold, red, and silver!

I created some simple nail art to show you  just one way of using the foil. I used some of the gold and layered it in different shapes on my nails. The foil sheets are VERY thin (so thin that when you touch them you can't even feel them!) so I'd advise using tweezers to handle it, and preparing your pieces beforehand so you aren't messing about with wet nails.

I painted on a coat of Barry M Raspberry, left to dry, then added a top coat and began applying the foil while it was still wet. I carefully placed it with tweezers, and patted it down with the flat side of the tweezers. Once everything is in place you can add another top coat to seal it.

I love how it turned out! I like how thin the foil is, as it means it sticks very easily and doesn't budge. One little pot goes quite a long way too, and you can re-use the pots to store various nail art goodies in!

You can find these foils here at Born Pretty Store. Don't forget you can use my discount code LGL91 for 10% off with free shipping!

Impala - Festa "Sua Noite"

Today I have a Brazilian polish to share with you guys. Impala is such a great brand because of the longevity of their polishes. I own four Impala polishes and all of them last between 5-7 days on my nails without chipping.
The colour I'm showing you today is part of the Festa Collection and is called Sua Noite, sent to me by the lovely Bia. It's a gunmetal polish with a foil finish, packed with tons of ultra-fine silver shimmer. Two coats provide complete coverage.

I've just come back from holiday and wore this polish the entire time I was there. It's the perfect holiday polish for me because it's an interesting dark colour without being plain black, yet it's not over the top glittery and it goes with all my outfits :)

Rainbow Honey Holiday Collection Review

Hi girls!
I hope you're all having amazing Holidays with people you love. Today I have a very fitting collection to share with you : the Rainbow Honey Holiday collection!

Spirit of Wonder is an opaque white base filled with blue and holographic glitter. Definitely perfect for Winter! Formula was fantastic and applied nicely and easily in 2 coats, just maybe a tiny bit too opaque as the glitters tend to be lost in the opaque white base. This is 2 coats plus topcoat.

Annual Emotion is a silver foil shimmer with a very slight holo. In the bottle it looks like a plain foil but once applied under certain lightings you can definitely see a the faint rainbow, adding an extra something for the usually non-holo lovers. Formula was once again flawless and I applied 2 coats plus topcoat here.

Gilded Angel is a gold version of Annual Emotion : exact same finish, effect and formula. Easy to apply, foil shimmer with a faint holo, opaque in 2 coats.

Glittering Rapture is a mix of different sizes of red, pink and gold glitter in a clear base. This one definitely calls for Christmas! Formula was a little thicker than the others but oh so easy to work with. I used 3 very thin coats plus topcoat here and they applied like butter, even layers and fast drying time.

Overall :
This is my very first experience with Rainbow Honey and I need to say that I'm impressed! The professional packaging, beautiful bottles and high quality formulations, everything's just perfect!

Rainbow Honey is available for purchase at rainbowhoney.com or through their international etailers and retails for $10 (15 ml) or $5 (7ml).
Free shipping on all orders of $25 or more until 12.31.2012.

Random Swatch Saturday - OPI Designer De Better

Here's the second edition of Random Swatch Saturday, AKA me going through all my unswatched/untrieds.

This is Designer De Better by OPI, from the 2011 Muppets Collection. I loved this collection when it came out, I was so excited for it! I have the mini collection and a couple of full sized bottles too.

Designer De Better is a champagne coloured foil with little bronze flakes, which make it really shimmery. I used 2 coats and top coat.

This is quite a unique foil in my opinion, the bronze flakes are so shiny and shimmery!

China Glaze Holiday Joy 2012 Collection part I : the cremes & shimmers

This Holiday China Glaze is releasing its Holiday Joy collection and be warned, you'd better love red and glitters!

This time, I've decided to cut the review in two : first up today is the cremes and shimmers and hopefully tomorrow, the glitters (7 of them!).

With Love
Fire red creme with a slight orange tint. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Red Satin
Medium blue based jelly/creme red. 3 coats plus topcoat.

Cranberry Splash
Metallic cardinal red shimmer. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Merry Berry
Dark berry red creme. 2 coats plus topcoat.

Blue Bells Ring
Medium blue metallic/foil. 2 coats no topcoat.

Overall :
Formula was really nice on all of these. The cremes all applied smoothly and evenly in 2 coats while Red Satin, jelly-creme hybrid, needed 3 and Blue Bells Ring almost perfectly opaque with one.
I love how bright With Love looks and of course I couldn't pass on Blue Bells Ring! The others are also beautiful just maybe not so original but considering the quality of China Glaze products, you will get your money's worth.

The China Glaze® Holiday Joy collection is already available in salons and beauty supply stores nationwide in displays, open stock as well as numerous gift sets (please refer to my previous post for the entire gift sets range)

So, what do you think girls? Did you get any of these yet or are you all over the glitters?
