Glimmer by Erica - Ethereal & Twilight Sky

I've been a complete slack arse with these two polishes! Erica from Glimmer by Erica sent me some polishes to review several months ago and I still hadn't got around to wearing these last two.  I don't know why I waited so long, cause I was so pleased with how both manis ended up looking.

Ethereal has a combination of royal blue, green, teal and gold hexes in various sizes in a clear base.  All the glitters behave perfectly and lay very smooth on the nail.   This is one coat of Ethereal over Picture Polish Marine topped with one coat of Seche Vite.  I was so happy with this layering combo, the two polishes just went with each other so perfectly!

Twilight Sky - I have previously tried Glimmer by Erica's Twilight Sky polish, and commented that it had some curled glitters in it.  Erica sent me her new and improved version and I'm happy to report that the new version is just gorgeous.  All the glitters lay perfectly flat and there was no bleeding and that's after this bottle has been sitting with me for at least three months!

Here I layered just one coat of Twilight Sky over over Picture Polish Electric Blue, topped with Seche Vite. The dark metallic blue base polish was just perfect under this polish too.

I really like that Erica has addressed the issue with the curled glitters.  I've said before that I'm ok with a reflective curl (not a taco) in my glitters, as long as two coats of top coat makes them smooth.  I like the way light can reflect off each bit of glitter differently. But, having said that, I do prefer flat glitters, and would certainly choose a flat glitter polish over one with reflective curling any day.

These polishes were sent for review.

Glimmer by Erica - Green with Envy & 50 Shades of No Gray

Here are two recent mani's I wore, both featuring Glimmer by Erica polishes.

First up is a sideways rainbow gradient.  I used Ulta3 polishes Mango Mayhem, Strawberry Sundae, Blue Heaven, Tahitian Lime and Frangipani, all sponged on over a base of Lily White.

I then added a layer of Glimmer by Erica - 50 Shades of No Gray, which is a mix of black, white and translucent white hexes in two sizes and well as black and white hearts.  I didn't have to fish out the hearts and I got two white ones on my left hand, and in a very rare right hand shot below you can see two black and one white heart.  This polish also has a fine holographic shimmer to it, which is just perfect over a gradient like this.

I must have been feeling very patriotic this day when I decided to go with green and gold nails.  The base is Essie Good as Gold and the green glitter is Glimmer by Erica - Green with Envy.

Green with Envy has different shapes and sizes of green and gold polish as well as some holo diamonds.

Both these glitters were a dream to apply and all glitter pieces were smooth and flat.  50 Shades of No Gray is definitely a layering polish, whereas you could probably get Green with Envy opaque on it's own.  I used one wiped coats of 50 Shades and one dabbled coat of Green with Envy.

Glimmer by Erica polishes are available from her Etsy store.

Ulta3 Pastels with glitter layering's

Here are some glitter layering's I tried over the Ulta3 pastels.

Gloss n Sparkle Mirage over Ulta3 Blue Hydrangea.

Lynnderella Attitude Adjust-Mint over Corsican Rose - Perfect match to the bottle colour!

Lynnderella Noesgay over Ulta3 Lilac Bloom - Don't you just love how those polish names go together.

Jelly sandwich with two coats of Ulta3 orange blossom, one coat of Glimmer by Erica Twilight Sky and one coat of Ulta3 orange blossom.

BYS Kinky Pink over Ulta3 pale dahlia.

Light on the chit chat tonight - work is crazy busy and my brain is fried.

See you tomorrow for another Halloween mani.

Glimmer by Erica - Don't be a drag, just be a queen

I recently received some more polishes from Glimmer by Erica.  Here is the first one that I chose to wear.  Don't be a drag, just be a queen has rich red hex glitter in two sizes, silver holo hexes and some red hearts, all in a clear base.

Here I layered two coats of Don't be a drag, just be a queen over a black base.  I did put on two coats of top coat to get a nice smooth finish.

I can see some hidden bubbles in this macro, but I swear they weren't there in real life, plus my top coat hid them completely and I didn't feel any lumpies.  All the glitters were perfect and flat, even the large hearts didn't give me any issues.  The formula on this was thick but workable, but chunky glitters need a good thick formula so you can get plenty of glitter out.

The other thing I like about this polish is its name.  I know its from the Lady Gaga song, but it reminds me of my favourtie TV show right now - 'I Will Survive'

I Will Survive is an Australian reality TV show where the premise is to find a “triple threat” all singing, dancing, and acting musical theatre star. But the twist is that it is all blokes who have to dress up in drag and perform a la Priscilla Queen of the Desert style, and they drive through outback Australia on a silver bus performing in the small country towns.  Its a great show and I have to say that all the guys really are fantastic and I think there are some real stars there!

Are any other Aussies watching this show?

Now, back to the polish.  Glimmer by Erica polishes are available from her Etsy store and are $10USD for a full sized bottle.
