Lacquer Lust more swatches and review

Hi girls! How was your weekend so far? Mine was busy, as usual, one of the impediments of being a wife/working mom/blogger I guess haha

Well today I have a whole new bunch of Lacquer Lust pretties to share with you. If you haven't seen my previous Lacquer Lust posts, I strongly encourage you to do so by clicking this link ;-)

The Glitters :

Five o’clock Shadow, Babycakes, Cosmic Chaos 

Five o’clock Shadow is a mix of matte black hex glitters in a pale grey jelly base. I really love how deliciously yummy it looks, reminds me of cookies and cream lol. Formula was a bit sheer but nice and even. I used two coats below but depending on your coverage preferences, you might want to go for three.

Babycakes is a soft baby pink jelly base with a rainbow of matte pearly pastel glitters, hexes and squares. This is not at all the type of shades I usually go for but it's perfectly well balanced and I'm sure that if you're a pastel lover you'll totally dig this one. Formula was also on the sheer side but didn't give me any trouble. This is three thin coats plus topcoat.

Cosmic Chaos is a black jelly packed with different sizes of copper and gold glitters that have a subtle green blue color shift. Now this is something I would rock anytime haha. I didn't really know what to expect in terms of intensity on its own, probably a three coats so I decided to layer it over black. This is two very thin coats plus topcoat.

Transition :

Purple Reign

Purple Reign is a rich warm purple jelly shimmer thermal. I absolutely LOVE this one! Darker when cold (tips) and lighter when warm (nail beds), the thermal effect is kind of subtle on this one but still visible enough. I used three thin coats plus topcoat.

Holographics :

Eternal Bliss, Sky’s the Limit, Sunkissed

Eternal Bliss is a very pale grey, almost white, jelly with a subtle linear holo effect. I haven't had the occasion to swatch any of these in the sun (come on on it's mid June already, where's the sun?!) so you'll have to imagine them stronger. This is two, streak free, even, coats.

Sky’s the Limit is a baby blue linear holo. The holo is stronger here than in Eternal Bliss, even if I wished it'd translated better in my swatches... Formula was more creamy as well and you're looking at two coats plus topcoat.

Sunkissed is a muted orange linear holo, definitely stronger than the other two. I've been loving oranges more and more and this one totally rocks! Formula was even and dried to a glossy finish, requiring two coats for complete coverage.

Shimmer Holographics :

Orion, Taurus,Venus

Dark and mysterious shimmers with a very subtle duochrome as well as holo particles, mimicking a galaxy nails effect.  Formula was sheer on all three shades but built up to full opacity and saturation with three thin coats.

Orion : teal shimmer with a slight purple color shift and holo particles.

Taurus :  coarse green shimmer with a slight blue color shift and holo particles.

Venus : blue shimmer with a slight purple color shift and holo particles.

Lacquer Lust Transitions collection

 

Hi girls, I hope you're all having a great week so far!

As far as I'm concerned, lots of free time this week so of course that means more blogging time. How cool is that?

 

Today I have the Lacquer Lust Transitions collection to share with you.

I've already posted a couple reviews of this brand and I think I've made it pretty clear how much I love Jo's creations ♥

 

The Transitions collection is a set of five thermal scattered holos. If you're not familiar with thermal polishes, they basically change color with your body temperature!

 

 

 

 

 

I used 2 coats for all of these swatches, they all appied nicely and I didn't experience any issue whatsoever. They also all dried to a shiny finish and "transitioned" really easily.

For swatching purposes, I decided to use 2 glasses of water, warm and cold. I dipped my middle finger and pinkie in warm water and my index and ring in cold water. I thought this was the best way to show you both colors but of course in "real life" the effect you will get will depend on ambiant/body temperature as well as your nail length. In normal conditions, I'd say your nail beds will have the warm shade and free edge the cold shade.

Overall :

I LOVE this collection! Temperature changing polishes are already so much fun but adding a scattered holo effect is simply genius! I can guarantee you'll spend your day looking at your nails ;-)

Lacquer Lust picture SPAM!!!

Among the things that can instantly lift my spirit on a blue day, is nail polish. Of course. But if that polish holds a sentimental value, isn't that even better?

I am totally in love with Jo's indie brand Lacquer Lust! Jo is very active on Instagram and regularly shares her new creations with us, I can't even tell you how many times I've literally drooled over my phone seeing them!

Today I have a whole bunch of Lacquer Lusts to share with you. Lemming alert!

First up, 3 shades from the "Care a Lot" collection, inspired by The Care Bears :

Carebear Stare is a white jelly base combined with a tender mix of pastel glitters : squares, hexes and micro glitters in a rainbow of yellow, blue, green and of course pink. It's absolutely stunning in person and I'm not even into pastels! I used 2 thin coats over white plus topcoat and had to place some of the glitters but formula was kind of nice for a white based glitter.

Little Miss Funshine is another white jelly, this time infused with different sizes of yellow gold glitter shreds. Looking at it, I can't help but think how come no one has made this before? It looks perfectly balanced and I don't know... Just right! Does that even make sense? Anyway, fomula was very similar to Carebear Stare and I used 2 thin coats over white in these swatches.

 

Sweet Dreams are made of these is a dense mix of blue, aqua, green and cool holographic gold glitters in a midnight blue jelly. The blue base it to die for and the amount of glitter allows perfect and effortless distribution on the nails. I LOVE this blue! This is 2 coats on its own plus topcoat.

 

And now, 3 holos!

Butt Bottie Naked is a glossy nude linear holo. It makes me think of a holo-fied version of the cultastic Rescue Beauty Lounge Grunge. The effect is subtle but still very noticeable and definitely linear! You will hear this a lot in this review but I love it! You're looking at 2 even, self-leveling, non-patchy, coats plus topcoat.

#nailpolishwhore is a dark raisin holo. The base color itself is beautiful and although the holo effect is more faint in this one, it still adds a little something to the polish. A gorgeous little something! Formula was pure perfection, even and highly pigmented, even on the first coat. The second coat only added more color saturation. 2 coats plus topcoat here.

 

I'm sure you want another pic, don't you?

Pow Chica Wow Wow is an EPIC dark blue holo. If, like me, you missed on OPI DS Glamour, this will satiate your lemming : a tad lighter but much stronger! Glamour could almost pale in comparison. I warned you : I love this one. Actually, that would be much more than love, it's become one of my favorite holos ever. Formula and application couldn't be any better : glossy, even, manageable and almost a one coater. This is 2 coats plus topcoat.

Ok, ok... Here's one more picture ;-)

 

 

And finally, I have 2 blacks for you :

Death by Cupid’s Arrow is a black based jelly packed with tons of red glitters, small and medium hexes, as well as a gold shimmer and what I think is a pink iridescence. I'm a big sucker of black based glitters so it feels like this one was made for me! I used 1 coat over a black creme and I couldn't describe you how much it has enlightened the black underneath! Super sexy!

Sex in Sin City is another black based jelly but full of rainbow squares and hexes this time. I've heard someone ask for a black rainbow glitter very recently (I think it was Salla from OMG! Polish 'em!) and this might very well be just what she wanted. Well it's just what "I" would want! I also used one coat over a black creme here and it required a little bit of fishing/dabbing but so worth it IMO.

 

There's probably no need for me to tell you once again how excited I am about Lacquer Lust so Id rather YOU told me what you think!
