White Owl Lacquers Come to Me for Valentine's Day

A couple of weeks ago, I published the White Owl Lacquers "Heightened Emotions" collection but I was missing Come to Me so of course I had to share it with you asap!

Come to me is a white based jelly with a delicate mix of blue and pink glitters in hex and round shapes. I'm so not a fan of whites or very light shades but Mara, my friend and creator of White Owl Lacquers literally lives for them and is slowly starting to convert me... I used 3 thin coats in the swatches below and I kind of like the porcelain look it creates but you could also go for 1-2 coats over a white creme or pastel if 3 coats of jelly is too much for you.

Heightened Emotions is based on the Vampire Diaries series and Come to Me inspired by the heartbreaking moment when Elena told Damon that she loved him... and he finally let her come to him *sobs* (quoting Mara LOL).

Come to me is currently out of stock due to a supposedly solvent resistant glitter that started to bleed but a new batch will be available in a week or so.

White Owl Lacquers is available on Big Cartel and retails for $9 each.

Don't forget to use FASHIONPOLISH for free shipping when you buy 3 or more polishes!
(US only, no expiration date)

White Owl Lacquer Valentine's Day collection "Heightened Emotions"

It feels like it was yesterday that my friend and fellow nail polish blogger Mara from Mara in Polishland released her first indie collection but actually it's already been over a month!

Today I have 2 of her Valentine's Day collection "Heightened Emotions" to show you.
This Vampire Diaries inspired collection consists of 3 glitters and depicts the Daemon / Elena complicated love. Emphasis on the "Daemon" ^_^

A little danger, named after their first encounter when he tells her "she wants a love that consumes her; she wants passion, adventure, and even a little danger".
Glitter topper in a clear base with rosy pink, fuchsia and red round glitter as well as very thin square and hex golds. The amount of glitter is perfectly balanced and if you make sure to shake the bottle before application, each "brush load" should give you enough particles to work with, requiring zero fishing. I used one "dabbed" coat over OPI Sparrow Me the Drama plus topcoat here.

Never Let Me Go, named after the song playing during their "epic" kiss in season 3, paraphrasing Mara here (like I wasn't a fan of the show myself LOL)
Same glitter blend as in A little danger in a white jelly. I layered one coat of Never Let Me Go over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and due to that the glitter pay off was lower and I had to fish a few extra rounds but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be an issue used on its own.

The "Heightened Emotions" also includes a third polish, "Come to Me" that I will hopefully share with you very soon.

So what do you think about these? Have you tried any White Owl Lacquers? Are you a Vampire Diaries fan? *hides* haha
Enjoy the rest of the weekend girls!

White Owl Lacquers is available on Big Cartel and retails for $9 each.
The "Heightened Emotions" is scheduled for release tomorrow.

White Owl Lacquers After all this Time Review

A little while ago, I promised you I'd post White Owl Lacquers first first collection as soon as I'd have a chance and luckily it came in the mail sooner than expected so here we go!!!

Inspired by the Harry Potter world, After all this Time features six glitters :

Pumpkin Pasties : 2 coats plus topcoat, no underwear.
Blend of orange, brown and mustard glitters in various shapes and sizes in a pastel apricot base. I really love how soft and delicate this looks. The glitters are perfectly balanced and match the base color beautifully!

Kittens and Teacups : 2 thin coats over white plus topcoat.
The pink and black glitters are less dense and the white base a little sheerer than the previous color, making it a 3 coater. I find the name very fitting, reminds of porcelain somehow.

Dwelling On Dreams : 1 coat plus topcoat over China Glaze Kinetic Candy.
The mix of turquoise and gold glitter is to die for! I'm completely in love with this polish... Two coater on its own and very similar to Pumpkin Pasties in terms of opacity.

Phoenix Tears : 1 coats plus topcoat over Manglaze Ilf
Blend of transluscent white plus various colors of square glitter in a blue shimmer infused clear base, very wintery!

Basilisk Venom : 1 coats plus topccoat over China Glaze Riveting.
Mix of differents tones of orange plus gold and black glitter in a clear base with  gold shimmer. This glitter is so fierce! It will look amazing on so many colors, LOVE.

Moony : 1 coat plus topcoat over Essence I'm the Boss.
Silver and black glitter in many shapes and sizes in a clear base. I've tried this one over many colors and it was pure love each and every time!

Overall :
For a first collection, I need to say I'm impressed! The creator of White Owl Lacquers, Mara, is a friend, fellow blogger and famous pastel lover and I love that she stepped out of her comfort zone to create unique and exciting colors. I couldn't name a favorite!

White Owl Lacquers is available on Big Cartel and retails for $9 each (full size) or $27 for the entire collection (minis). The stock is limited so grab yours while you can!
