piCture pOlish - Marine

Here's one more piCture pOlish beauty I got the chance to swatch in the past week. It's suitably named Marine and it's a rich pigmented teal creme which applies easily in two coats.
Colour like these usually stain my nails really badly but I had no problems with this one. I'll probably wear this polish a few times in the next few months as it's a perfect transitional colour from Summer to Autumn.

piCture pOlish can be purchased directly from their website - picturepolish.com.au. They do international shipping. You can also purchase it at various etailers throughout the world. Check out their Network page for more info. You can keep updated on any piCture pOlish news via their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Morgan Taylor Swatches

I have a couple of swatches from a brand called Morgan Taylor today. I'd had my eye on Under The Stars for a while and was lucky enough to be sent it, along with Gotta Have Hue. Morgan Taylor is a professional brand created by the founders of Gelish and recently launched at Urban Retreat in Harrods.

Unforunately, I really could not capture how nice Under The Stars is. I tried so hard, I must have taken about 50 pictures in a million different lights, but it just didn't get the sparkle. If you follow me on Instagram, I've put up a quick video of the bottle so you can see how nice it actually looks! It has different sized pieces of holographic glitter, in a midnight blue base.

You can see some sparkle on this one. It does look much nicer in real life. I used two coats and 2 coats of top coat.

I love it, it's unique in my stash!

I also tried out one of their creme polishes. This is Gotta Have Hue, a richly pigmented turquoise. This looks so glossy when it's on! I used 2 coats and top coat.

This is just the kind of formula I look for in a creme. These polishes also have an awesome brush, it's long and wide and similar to the OPI pro-wide brushes. They have some gorgeous looking glitters, shimmers and cremes on their website. I'm dying to try All The Right Moves and New York State of Mind! They're presented in a really eye-catching way on the website too.

Morgan Taylor lacquer is available from Urban Retreat at Harrods and at selected salons, RRP £10.50. I've also seen a few on eBay in the UK.

piCture pOlish Citrus - Swatches and Nail Art

Thank you to everyone who commented on my Blog Fest post, I'm so happy that so many people liked it! Don't forget to show me if you create something using the tutorial! I'm over half way through my piCture pOlish swatch fest now too. Today I've got Citrus to show you, and a bit of nail art to go with it.

Citrus is a bright bright juicy orange creme and looks good enough to drink! I found the formula a bit thicker than other PP creme polishes but still smooth. I used 2 coats and top coat.

I decided to try some negative space nail art, inspired by both The Daily Polish and The Nailasaurus, using Citrus and Magenta.

piCture pOlish can be purchased directly from picturepolish.com.au, or through their international network. In the UK, you can find them at Sally Magpies.

Jacava - Blueberry Muffin (Flaked and Studded)

You may remember the mani I did with Jacava Marrakesh Nights and not long ago, the slanted french tip mani with Jacava Pink Whisper and Candy Floss. Well, today I have another Jacava polish to show you. It's called Blueberry Muffin (love that name) and it's a lilac creme. As with all the Jacava polishes I've tried so far, the formula was amazingly opaque and easy to work with. Jacava is quite pricey but their formulas and consistency won't let you down.

As I've mentioned before, all Jacava polishes are '8 free' (free from DBP, Camphor, Formaldehyde, Toluene, Collophane, Parabens, Phthalates and Animal Ingredients) and of course they are also Cruelty Free.

Oh... and you may be wondering about my nails!!! Yes, for the first time in nearly 3 years, I have rounded them off. I am currently letting them grow almond shaped but because they were super square, I had to file down quite a lot to start rounding the edges in. That is why the tips are still slightly squared off but hopefully they won't take too long to grow!

I then added a coat of Essie Shine Of The Times and some square gold studs from the Born Pretty Store.

You can purchase Jacava directly from their website - http://www.jacava.com/. and they also sell through Feel Unique.

Don't forget to check out their Facebook page for amazing swatches and manis from other girls as well as competitions and promotions.

piCture pOlish Wisteria - Swatches and Nail Art

I unfortunately missed last weeks piCture pOlish post due to my back problems, but the shiny wonderfulness is back this week in the shape of Wisteria! Being a big Desperate Housewives fan (and missing it terribly) I was drawn to the name!

Wisteria is a perfect lilac creme, a little darker than a pastel. As usual, the formula is great and I used two
coats plus top coat.

I added a feather accent nail, but my camera didn't really like it and tried to turn it blue. It's lilac in real life!

piCture pOlish really know how to make a good creme!

Zoya Stunning Collection Review

Hi girls!
I have the first half of this Summer's Zoya collection to share with you today : the Stunning set!

With 2 cremes and 4 faux-cremes (hidden silver shimmer), the Stunning collection is a really fun and wearable collection. Formula was quite consistent in this set : on the thicker side but still very manageable, they almost all applied easily, the only one that took careful application was Darcy, the yellow, but I still only had to use 2 coats on all of the swatches below.

Zoya Yana
red tinted pink with a hidden silver shimmer
2 coats plus topcoat

Zoya Thandie
orange with a hint of coral and a hidden silver shimmer
2 coats plus topcoat

Zoya Rocky
sky blue creme with no hidden silver shimmer
2 coats plus topcoat

Zoya Micky
coral pink with a silver hidden shimmer
2 coats plus topcoat

Zoya Josie
grass green creme with no hidden silver shimmer
2 coats plus topcoat

Zoya Darcy
sunny yellow creme with a silver hidden shimmer
2 coats plus topcoat

Overall :
A really nice set of colors for Summer, probably not the most original ever but I always love the Zoya creme sets and this one's no exception! They all look perfect together, especially for the season.

Did you grab any of these?

Jacava Chillax and Blueberry Muffin - Swatches

Hi! Sorry I've been a bit slow posting lately. I've got some crazy lower back issues which makes sitting at a desk doing nails and sitting at a computer typing posts almost impossible :( I'm currently full of pain killers with a heat pad on my back. Hoping to be back to normal soon, don't know how much more I can take!

I have a couple more swatches of British brand Jacava to show you today. I first reviewed Jacava back in December and you can read my original review here. Jacava is the world's first patented 8-free brand (no formaldehyde, camphor, DBP, parabens, collophane, toluene, phthalates or animal ingredients) and is designed and made in the UK! They also feature an extra long brush that reaches all the way to the bottom of the bottle, unlike a lot of brands. They were kind enough to send me some more shades to try and here they are.

This is Chillax, a bright metallic turquoise blue with subtle shimmer. Application was great, I used 2 coats and it dries really fast. It's a bit of a stainer though so make sure you use base coat!

Yummy shimmery macro!

Blueberry Muffin is a glossy lilac creme which was a bit difficult to photograph but I got there in the end! This also applied really well, 2 coats.

The print on the bottle is 22 carat gold!

Jacava retails at £14.50 a bottle and is available direct from the website, www.jacava.com, where there is currently a promotion for 10% off. You can also buy Jacava on Feel Unique.

piCture pOlish Ombré feat Candy, Flirt, Mad Magenta & Wisteria!

Hi girls!
Today I have a new piCture pOlish ombré manicure to share with you!
You might remember I posted a green/blue version already a couple of months ago with Jade, Honey Dew, Tiffany and Sky (link), well this one's for the pink and purple lovers ;-)
Full credit to Jules from the PP team for picking these up!

In terms of formula, they all applied perfectly : even, flowing easily with no issue whatsoever. I used one single coat of Flirt in the swatches below and two for the others. They also all dried quickly and to a shiny finish except for Mad Magenta which was a bit dull, not that you should ever skip topcoat anyway.

piCture pOlish Flirt
