piCture pOlish - Marine

Here's one more piCture pOlish beauty I got the chance to swatch in the past week. It's suitably named Marine and it's a rich pigmented teal creme which applies easily in two coats.
Colour like these usually stain my nails really badly but I had no problems with this one. I'll probably wear this polish a few times in the next few months as it's a perfect transitional colour from Summer to Autumn.

piCture pOlish can be purchased directly from their website - picturepolish.com.au. They do international shipping. You can also purchase it at various etailers throughout the world. Check out their Network page for more info. You can keep updated on any piCture pOlish news via their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Emily De Molly The Fifth Element - Swatches

I've wanted this polish since the first time I saw it (I can't resist the movie reference and the colour combination) and thanks to Sally Magpies I was able to buy it at last! Emily De Molly is an Australian indie brand of nail polish and one of my absolute favourites, everything they make is just stunning. The Fifth Element is an unusual combination of orange and turquoise glitter in a turquoise jelly base. I used 2 coats.

More pics ahead

Do you own any Emily De Molly? I want all of them!! They're stocked in the UK by Sally Magpies, but unfortunately most are now sold out :( hopefully more will come in!

Cirque Bejeweled and Vesuvius Swatches

Cirque's Arcus collection has been sitting on my desk for way too long waiting to be swatched but I've been a bad blogger and not given it the attention it deserves. I got a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of swatching a full collection of 12 polishes and kind of shied away from the whole thing which was silly. I've decided that it's best to work my way through it at a reasonable pace so I want to show you guys my favourites over the next few weeks at my own sloth pace!

Today I'll be showcasing the to holographic polishes in the collection - Bejeweled and Vesuvius. I'm a huge fan of holographic polishes and these two are both welcome additions to my collection. I don't have anything else similar to these and the blue just makes me go weak at the knees. There's not too much to say about these polishes except that they're perfect. They apply like a dream and the colours are stunning but you guys can see that for yourselves!

This is two coats of Bejeweled with a top coat. I also couldn't resist adding an accent of Queen Majesty

I would describe Vesuvius as a dark salmon colour. It's very romantic and dreamy. I don't have many polishes of this shade in my collection but after wearing this one I think I need more.

These particular polishes retail for $15.00 but most of the other colours in the collection are $13.00.
Cirque nail polish is available on the Cirque Colors website if you're in the US or Sally Magpies for UK buyers. There's a full list of stockists on the Cirque website so be sure to check that out if you're in the rest of the world!

Polished by KPT - Glow The Blues Away

Today I have another creation from Katherine at Polished by KPT to share with you. This pink is so bright and vibrant that I had to wear it before the summer here ends.

Glow the Blues Away is a super saturated pink jelly packed with scattered holo glitter. It glows in the dark too but I don't have one of those black UV lights to show you. This is two coats but I would recommend three for complete opacity. Definitely one of my summer favourites!

You can purchase Polished by KPT directly from their website, (US & Canada shipping) but they are now also available at Shoppe Eclectic and Harlow & Co.

piCture pOlish - pshiiit

A week doesn't go by that I don't check out Camille's blog. She is super talented, her manis always inspire me and her photography skills are amazing. The polish I am showing you today is one of the collaboration shades and as per Camille's blog, it's called Pshiiit.

This is 2 coats of pshiiit. No topcoat. As it's a little on the sheer side, I will probably go for 3 coats next time. The bottle colour transfers onto my nails pretty accurately. It pulls more towards green although that blue jelly base is still visible, making it a nice teal duochrome. There are also some blue/ green flakies in there although I wish there were more of them because they're so hard to capture.

piCture pOlish can be purchased directly from their website - picturepolish.com.au. They do international shipping. You can also purchase it at various etailers throughout the world. Check out their Network page for more info. You can keep updated on any piCture pOlish news via their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Polished by KPT - Kelvin Bleu and Hot Like Wasabi (thermal polishes)

The wonderful Katherine from Polished by KPT recently sent me some of her polishes to try. If you visit her shop, you'll see an extensive line of bright and dark thermals, funky glitters and toppers as well as holo and neon/ glow polishes.

Today I'm showing you two thermals - Kelvin Bleu and Hot Like Wasabi. All Polished by KPT polishes are 3 free (no toluene, no formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate) and cruelty free.

Kelvin Bleu is a medium periwinkle blue when "cold". Capturing the transition in this one was easier than the others. My hands were really hot when I applied it, thus the very pale shade of blue...
...but as soon as I dipped my hands in ice cold water, the blue transition became much more evident and darker. In the winter it would permanently look like this as my hands are always cold.

The transition for "Hot Like Wasabi" was much more difficult to capture. Maybe it was because I swatched these when the weather was really, really hot here and by the time I removed my hands from cold water, they were instantly hot again.

Hot Like Wasabi is is a yellow/ green scattered holo thermal polish. I didn't layer this one over white which I think would have made it slightly paler. The first picture is what it would look like "hot" and I just about managed to capture the tips transitioning to a brighter green in the second picture.

You can purchase Polished by KPT directly from their website, (US & Canada shipping) but they are now also available at Shoppe Eclectic and Harlow & Co.

Morgan Taylor Swatches

I have a couple of swatches from a brand called Morgan Taylor today. I'd had my eye on Under The Stars for a while and was lucky enough to be sent it, along with Gotta Have Hue. Morgan Taylor is a professional brand created by the founders of Gelish and recently launched at Urban Retreat in Harrods.

Unforunately, I really could not capture how nice Under The Stars is. I tried so hard, I must have taken about 50 pictures in a million different lights, but it just didn't get the sparkle. If you follow me on Instagram, I've put up a quick video of the bottle so you can see how nice it actually looks! It has different sized pieces of holographic glitter, in a midnight blue base.

You can see some sparkle on this one. It does look much nicer in real life. I used two coats and 2 coats of top coat.

I love it, it's unique in my stash!

I also tried out one of their creme polishes. This is Gotta Have Hue, a richly pigmented turquoise. This looks so glossy when it's on! I used 2 coats and top coat.

This is just the kind of formula I look for in a creme. These polishes also have an awesome brush, it's long and wide and similar to the OPI pro-wide brushes. They have some gorgeous looking glitters, shimmers and cremes on their website. I'm dying to try All The Right Moves and New York State of Mind! They're presented in a really eye-catching way on the website too.

Morgan Taylor lacquer is available from Urban Retreat at Harrods and at selected salons, RRP £10.50. I've also seen a few on eBay in the UK.

piCture pOlish - Vampire

Here is another gorgeous piCture pOlish shade which I can see myself wearing various times this Fall. It's called Vampire and the name completely suits this blood red jelly! Squishy and gory, perfect for Halloween!

This is two coats but you can add a third coat to get a deeper burgundy red colour!
