It's a Boy!

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby boy yesterday!  Here's the mani I came up with for the joyous event!

Starting at the thumb and going clockwise, the polishes used are SpaRitual Circle of Life, China Glaze Bahamian Escape, Essie Avenue Maintain, L'Oreal Royally Yours (how appropriate!!) and OPI No Room for the Blues; two coats each; topped with SV.

Stamped with various images from plates MJ VIII (full size image on index finger); OB39 (thumb), SdP 66 (crown on pinky - on further down pix), MJ II (hands and wording It's a Boy on index, rattle on pinky), and Big SdP K (full size image on ring finger).  Polishes used were white, royal purple and red Konad special polishes and turquoise Mundo de Unas stamping polish.

I did such a terrible job of lining up the double stamping needed to create the flag on the thumb using the OB39 plate, so had to hand paint in some of the lines....but did better than I thought considering it was my first attempt! Hopefully with a bit of practise, I can eventually do some double stamping better!

Added a few random dots using China Glaze Bahamian Escape and L'Oreal Royally Yours.

Topped with SV.

Thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Animal Week; Day 2

I think that this mani barely passes as an animal mani but I had lots of ideas for when I sat down to do my nails last night, then started to look for image plates and before I knew it, it was 12:45 am and I still had to do the actual mani.  So I did this quickly as I didn't want to be up much longer doing my nails.

Started with base of OPI That's Hot! Pink and OPI Bride's Bouquet.  Before I share the finished base coat, I wanted to share a pix of what happens when you start to paint your nails at 12:45 am.  This was my mani in progress; one coat of all polishes, no cleanup as you can see and just before the second coat of applying the pink, I was wrapping the tips....and wrapped the white accent too by mistake! So I had to take the time to remove the pink, add white to the tips, let it dry and then do all the second coats.  I think the lesson learned here is to start your mani's earlier so you're not to tired and you won't make these silly mistakes!

Anyway, this is what the base polishes looked like after two coats, topped with SV.

Added stamping using white and black Konad special polishes.  Plates used were MJ V (ring), Handy 25 (middle and pinky), and Handy 10 (index and thumb images).  (I'm not actually sure what the string like image is on the accent nail or why it is there.....anyone have any idea?)

Added a couple rhinestone bows.

Decided I wasn't terribly happy with the placement of the image on the index finger so removed it and re-stamped.  Added a few dots and the flower image from Handy 25 to the thumb.

Added a few more yellow dots to accent.  At this point, I was going to go to town with yellow and black dots throughout but it was already late plus I feel that I tend to over dot a lot of mani's anyway, so left as is.

Topped with SV to finish.

I just received these plates not too long ago from Mundo de Unas on FB; here's a few stamped images on paper that I thought I'd share.  It may be necessary to click to enlarge.  I was surprised that the very small images on some of these plates stamp so well; the fine detail on the images is great!

The Mundo de Unas plates can be seen further here

Thanks for looking....and don't forget to check out the other ladies Day 2 mani's!
