Bourjois - 150 year anniversary nail collection - Part 1

Today I have for you, swatches of seven new polishes from the 15 polish collection that Bourjois has released for it's 150th Anniversary. The polishes are inspired by this season's trends and based on 15 special milestones that Bourjois from within the 150 year history of the Bourjois brand.

Can I just say WOW, I had no idea that the Bourjois brand had been around that long.

1863 Les Theatres - "Bourjois was born in the age of the theatre and the scenic arts". A dark, blue toned red cream.  Two coats with Seche Vite top coat.  One coat would suffice if you're in a rush - and that pretty much goes for all these shades.

1870 Java - "The creation of Java rice powder, an essential product at the time". Oooohh, can you imagine ladies in the 19th century putting using a green powder like this.  I wonder what they used it for? Two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

1890 Manon Lescaut - "Bourjois created a new chapter with the first compact complexion powder, Manon Lescaut".  I had no idea that compact face powder was around pre 1900! This nude shade has a light silvery shimmer. Two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

1913 Cendre de roses - "The famous woody pink Cendre de Roses blush joined the range of iconic Little Round Pots". Two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

1928 Soir de Paris - "Dazzling success of Soir de Paris fragrance, created by Ernest Beaux".
A dark navy blue with a bright blue shimmer. Two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

1938 Mais Oui - "The feminine and elegant Mais Oui fragrance marked the start of the love affair between Bourjois and Pink". A pale pink with a sparkly pink and silver shimmer. Two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

1950 Bourjois with a J for Joy -" “Bourjois with a J for Joy”: a poetic invention to avoid confusion of Bourjois with “bourgeois”". Bright richly pigmented orange. Two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

The formula on these was nothing short of perfect.  Beautifully pigmented, creamy and smooth.  An absolute pleasure to apply.

My only complaint is that each bottles name is only on the plastic wrapping that goes around the bottle.  The top part of the plastic rips off with the perforation down the side of the lid, and there is another perforation around the neck of the lid so that the top bit comes off and leaves the label bit applied.  But in my haste to open all my bottles I did rip a few of the labels off and had to use sticky tape to put them back on.

The bottles are minis, around the same size as the OPI minis.  Despite the small bottle size the brushes are lovely.  The bristles are actually quite long and the wand part is shorter.  Usually with mini bottles you end up with shorter bristles.

These are scheduled to be available in Priceline and Target stores in Australia in May and are $5 each. Bourjois is also available in over 100 countries around the world, so I'm pretty sure these will be available for most people.

I will have the remaining eight shades tomorrow night.
