Where am I? - I'm home. I know I will have enjoyed my holiday, but I'm sure it was exhausting with Mr 5 and Miss 2 demanding every moment of our attention. I would have sleept in my own bed last night and no doubt discovered that I gained a few kilos whilst away. 

I plan to be back tonight with a blog post, but before that, I have my very last scheduled guest post for you, and I really love this one. 

This mani is created by Angela - the brains behind Gloss 'n Sparkle indie brand.  Angela doesn't blog, but she is on instagram, and as you can see from this post, she is genuinely a very creative mind - I'm guessing that's also why her indie line is so popular!  Angela has created a stepped 3D design, and has provided a step by step pictorial on how to it.  Over to you Ange

Hi Everyone! Angela here, I've NEVER done a blog post before, so firstly I'd like to thank Cathy for having me, and secondly, I'd like to say how excited I am to be doing a guest post on one of my favorite blogs. I usually post my nails on instagram, you can find me @madaboutnails, and I'm also the creator of Gloss 'n Sparkle nail polish.

I had big plans for some really detailed nail art to share with you, but upon attempting it, it turned out nothing like I pictured, and a total fail. Instead, I've tried something else I've been wanting to do for a while and I love how it turned out. I hope you do too!

I used two polishes to create this look, Revlon - Metallic which is a silver foil, fairly opaque and fast drying (a good thing considering the amount layers I've done here!) and a red jelly franken I made over a year ago. To make this I used a half full bottle of clear top coat, to which I added Kleancolor - Dark Red, drop by drop until I was happy with the opacity.

Using only the brush from the bottles, I painted layers of the two, and with each layer of silver covering a little less of the nail, in the same style as you would do a ruffian manicure.

I love how the red jelly gave the silver a candy apple red look, which was deeper and 'squishier' looking with each layer.

It took me a total of 8 layers to achieve this look, so it ended up a bit thick towards the tips, but it wasnt bad at all. I didn't use a top coat, as the franken I made using a top coat.

Here's a little step by step!

I hope some of you try this out, its a fairly easy look to achieve with a steady hand, though I recommend doing it when you have a bit of spare time to wait for all the layers to dry.
