piCture pOlish Majesty by Sahrish Adeel - Swatches and Stamping


This is the penultimate post in my piCture pOlish swatch series :( sad it's nearly over! Today I've got Majesty, a collaboration shade with blogger Sahrish Adeel. Majesty is a champagne coloured shimmer with lots of scattered holo particles which flash gold and even a bit of green (which is unfortunately not evident in my pictures) 

I added some nail art, I tried to go with elegant because this polish definitely is...this is a design from Bundle Monster plate 209, stamped with Konad white.

I will say, Majesty has a bit more of a golden hue in real life, my camera (or lighting set up) didn't want to pick it up. It's sheer but buildable, I used 3 coats (no top coat) and it mostly covered any visible nail line.





It's much more beautiful than I was expecting!

piCture pOlish Paradise by Liquid Jelly - Swatches and Stamping



The next in my piCture pOlish swatch series is Paradise, a collaboration shade with blogger Liquid Jelly. I was really excited when I got this! It looks so beautiful in the bottle and it translates well to the nails.

How to describe Paradise!? I have no idea really, there's a lot going on! It's sort of a textured blue/green jelly base with purple shimmer/glitter, along with larger pieces of pink glitter. It's really striking actually!

I used 3 thin coats and top coat, the formula was great and very easy to build up.




So unique and pretty, I'm glad I was sent this one!

I decided to do a bit of stamping over the top. I used a design from Bundle Monster plate 208 with Konad white polish.

Dainty Floral

I've been staring at Essie Mojito Madness for ages thinking that it'd look nice with something stamped in white. I finally got round to doing it, and chose this dainty little floral print from Bundle Monster 315. 






Just a 5 minute job and it ended up looking really nice. I realised as I was doing it that I stamp so much faster than I used to!

I really love Mojito Madness too, it's one of my favourite green cremes. 2 coats with top coat.

Feeling Grey.

I'm really getting back into my stamping plates lately. Whether it'll last remains to be seen! I have a love/hate relationship with stamping. I love how it looks and how you can achieve perfect patterns that you couldn't do freehand, but getting the stamp to cover my nails is always a problem. They JUST about fit lengthways if I position them perfectly! I often have to scrub off and start again. It's always a relief when I only have my little finger to go, it's so easy to stamp on that one!!

Here I've started with a base of Barry M Grey, and created a gradient using China Glaze Icicle and a make-up sponge. I used Konad White and Bundle Monster plate 322 for the stamp.

Easter Gradient

Happy Easter! I hope everybody is gorging themselves on chocolate! I cooked a roast dinner today for my family (Well, my Mum did the meat because AS IF I can cook meat properly) and tomorrow I'm going to demolish my chocolate while sat in front of the television and not feel at all guilty about it. 

Here are my Easter weekend nails! I decided on a gradient using mixed pastels, with an Easter Egg style pattern stamped over the top. The colours I used are Beth's Blue, Jade Stone, Pastel Pink and Lemon Meringue, all from Model's Own. The stamping plate is Bundle Monster 315. 





Taking a picture like that last one is hard with one hand! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Vintage Floral

I dusted off my stamping plates for the first time in a while! I love stamping, but my nails are so big it can be such a pain getting the stamp to cover the whole thing!

I started with a base of OPI Samoan Sand, and I stamped with Konad White and a floral design from Bundle Monster plate 321. I added a Northern Lights Holo top coat, which isn't very visible in my pictures unfortunately.

Meet The Necklasaurus

I have never ever been this excited about a piece of jewellery before! I first found this amazing specimen in Slashpile Designs' Etsy shop way back in September last year and couldn't get it out of my mind since. I shopped around for other possible mascots but always came back round to this one. It's just so 'me'... minimalist but detailed. I finally decided to cough up some cash and just go for it and boy oh boy was it worth it!

Slashpile Designs is the creation of sisters Tara and Courtney and if you like interesting jewellery, you should most definitely go and have a browse. I especially love their 1 'Carrot' diamond ring!



I'm not sure if I've ever told the story of my blog name before and I think now would be a perfect time seeing as it's also my 750th post! I started going by 'Sammersaurus' online when I joined MySpace close to a decade ago, maybe 2004-05, and I honestly can't remember how I came up with it.
A few years later, I was watching 'Meet The Robinsons' with my family and one particular scene involving a Tyrannosaurus Rex with a 'big head and little arms' (video here) tickled me and my Dad. I'm slightly below average height and often can't reach things that are high up so the Saurus name kind of stuck and 'I've only got little arms' has become a running joke in the family!
When I decided to create a nail blog, I didn't have to think about the name at all. I knew from the start it would be The Nailasaurus and to this day I still love the name, even if I do have to spell it out every time I tell someone.
Now that I'm talking about it, I realise it's kind of a strange name! What did you think when you first came across this blog and saw that title?!



I used A-England Lancelot as the black base colour and then freehanded on the T-Rex using a nail art brush with Barry M Silver Foil.
The chain design is a stamp from Bundle Monster Plate BM12 but the links on the stamp all have gaps in so I filled them in with the Barry M Silver Foil.
The glitter is Cirque French Roast and I used 3 coats of it over a base of PVA Glue for easy peel removal!
It's all topped off with two coats of NYC In a New York Minute top coat.
