Zoya Pixie Dust Fall 2013 Collection Review!

Hi girls! I hope you've all had a great weekend! Mine was kind of busy, I was bored of my blog design so I spent most of my spare time working on some new features... Please tell me you like them LOL

Today I got the latest Zoya Pixie Dust collection to share with you. I love Pixie Dusts, they're definitely among my favorite matte textured colors so I was pretty excited to try them!

Dhara is a hot orange matte textured mixed  with gold glitter. Super vibrant in real life and totally breathtaking! Formula was stellar and an easy one-coater. This is one coat, no topcoat.

Two weeks of Colors by llarowe : Sparkles are a Girl's Best Friend

Hi (again) girls! I have a new Colors by llarowe holo to show you today!

Sparkles are a Girl's Best Friend is a hot fuchsia linear holo. The base color is bold and definitely different from all pink holos I've tried so far. Even and easy to work with, I used two medium coats in the swatches below as it was a bit on the sheer side. I think you'll need two to three coats for complete coverage.

Colors by llarowe is available for purchase on llarowe.com. A few shades are OOS at the moment but make sure to subscribe to the llarowe's newsletter to be notified on the next restock.

Prices vary from $6 (jellies) to $10 (glitters) and $12 (holos)

Fuchsia Garden - Terrestrial Nails

Today I have a somewhat bright mani to show you, featuring an indie polish from Terrestrial Nails called Fuchsia Garden. It was sent to me by a wonderful lady on Instagram (@nic_tchelly) and you can also find the creator of Terrestrial Nails on Instagram (@newieee), on Etsy and on Facebook.

Fuchsia Garden is a medium green base with mircro and medium hex fuchsia glitter. You need 3 coats for full opacity but you can also layer it over any green or teal polish to achieve instant opacity. One thing I like about this polish is definitely the colour combo, it's different and original as I haven't seen a lot of green bases with fuchsia glitter. I just wish there were a bit more of the larger hex glitter swimming around in it.

I used a bright neon purple polish to complement the glitters in this polish and to also break up the green a little bit. It's by Justy Cosmetics No.422. This polish was only €1 and I absolutely love the colour and the formula. I'll have to do a full mani with it soon.

Super Funk(y) Pink Jelly Sandwich

I haven't done a jelly sandwich in a while. Usually I just layer glitter over a polish and leave it at that but I had Essie Sugar Daddy sitting in my stash and I think it's a perfect polish to create jelly sandwiches.

I used two Coats of Jessica Samba Parade for the pink base so I wouldn't need too many coats of Sugar Daddy. The glitter is NYX Super Funk, I bought a few NYX glitters from Beauty Joint a while back and I'm really happy with them. I've already done another jelly sandwich with NYX Enchanted Forest and I really liked liked how that turned out too.

So, the layering sequence was: Jessica Samba Parade 2 coats, NYX Super Funk 1 coat and Essie Sugar Daddy 1 coat. I really like how milky and soft Sugar Daddy looks over the fuchsia glitter pieces.

ManGlaze Lesbihonest - Swatches

Hi lovelies! I've been to Chester Zoo today and I got overly excited because I saw a Sloth. I swear they did not have one last time. Sloths are awesome!! Also apparently the Queen is coming to Liverpool tomorrow. Tempted to go and be patriotic! Also, this is my 100th post :) Anyway...

I've been wanting some ManGlaze polish for ages (they don 't ship to the UK, booo) so I was so excited when Melissa sent me some in our latest swap! I love ManGlaze because their Facebook page makes me laugh, they have fun polish names and as a company they seem just that little bit different.

Here we have Lesbihonest, which is a beautiful fuchsia full of flecks of shimmer.

Manglaze Lesbihonest

Anyone who has tried a ManGlaze will know the formula is heaven. It's a true matte, and glides on super smooth. You could definitely do one coat with this, but I did two because I feel weird doing one coat (honestly I refuse to believe in one coat polishes...they freak me out. I always sit there staring at them like...YOU NEED ANOTHER COAT. YOU JUST DO!) plus I usually bump my nails on the table before they're dry and end up needing another one anyway.

Manglaze Lesbihonest

Look how smooth and suede-like it is! Honestly so impressed with the formula. And how great is the bottle? Sure is better than a plain old boring one.

Manglaze Lesbihonest

I also tried it with a regular top coat in direct sunlight. Click the jump for the shimmer party!

This is with a layer of regular gloss top coat. Makes it look like hard candy.

Manglaze Lesbihonest

And direct sunlight, so you can see how fabulously shimmery it is!

Illamasqua Nomad and Stance - Swatches and Review + Water Marble

Helloooo! I found myself once again at the Illamasqua counter...like a moth to a flame, every single time. The staff are always so friendly and wearing stunning make-up which draws me to it even more. I picked up Nomad and Stance, the two new polishes from the 2012 Human Fundamentalism collection.

First up is Nomad. I would say this is perhaps a tiny bit lighter than my picture suggests, but only ever so slightly. I, unlike a lot of people, am a huge fan of green shades, especially ones like this. I would describe it as minty jade. Is that a colour? It is now.

Illamasqua Nomad and Stance

Lovely, easy to work with formula, as you would expect from Illamasqua. Dries to a nice glossy creme finish. I used two coats plus topcoat in my pictures.

Click the jump for Stance and a water marble!

This is stance. Very bright and beautiful fuchsia, a little more on the purple side than pink.

Illamasqua Nomad and Stance

This is also a creme, though less so than Nomad. It may be slightly on the jelly side, if you ask me. Pictures are two coats plus top coat.

Finally, I did a quick water marble just to show how good the colours look together. This is only my second attempt at a water marble (the first one was not even worth posting)!

I can't stop staring at the pretty colours!

Layering: Revlon Facets of Fuchsia & CND Violet Shimmer Effects

This polish has been causing a bit of a hype lately, not least because it's the high street drugstore's take on Deborah Lippmann's Bad Romance for a fraction of the cost.

I'm sure you all know the ins and outs of this polish - black jelly base with Fuchsia glitter and hex shaped glitter, etc... so I'll skip that part!

I applied 2 coats of Facets of Fuchsia over 1 coat of Barry M Black. I just wanted to make it as opaque as possible without having to use too many coats of FoF! I wanted to try it over a fuchsia base colour as well but didn't have the time so instead I layered CND Effect Violet Shimmer over it:

What do you think of the CND Violet Shimmer effect? I think it adds another dimension to FoF and makes it more edgy.
