Illamasqua Generation Q for Fall Winter 2012

One thing that has got me really excited lately was the weekly updates I've received from the Illamasqua team about their upcoming Generation Q collection. Each look was better than the last...

If you're unfamiliar with the concept behind the collection, here are a few words for you :

"'Generation Q - is generation YOU!
It's what they tell you not to do; it’s what you see your true self through.
It's what is old and what is new.
What you know and what you knew.
It's what you feel and what is true”
          Alex Box, Illamasqua Creative Director

If you ask me, I find it pretty amazing to feature real life people, regardless of their age or origin in the beauty campain of a world wide distributed make up company such as Illamasqua.

Charisma is an absolutely gorgeous magenta shimmer. It's rich, vibrant and so warm and glowing that when I first laid eyes on it, I knew I would love it! And it did not disappoint! It reminds of OPI Diva of Geneva but when I compared them, I found Charisma to be warmer and more intense. Hopefully, I will post comparison swatches very soon. Formula was pure perfection : thin and opaque at the same time, one coat almost delivers full coverage. This is 2 coats plus topcoat.

Creator is a black based silver glitter. It's no secret that I'm a black polish lover so I'm guessing you already know that I'm going to say that I love it... Truth is it's beyond love! The contrast between the sparkle of the silver glitter and the darkness of the black base is unbelievable for a polish with such opacity : once again, almost a one coater! Of course, I had to rummage through my stash in search for a possible dupe but (thankfully) the closest I could find, Nars Night Breed, paled in comparison : on the nail Creator is much more saturated and almost looks "alive". Again, I will post comparisons very soon. This is 2 coats plus also 2 coats of topcoat as it tends to eat TC.

And now, stepping out my comfort zone, the Precision Ink eyeliner from the Generation Q collection : Wisdom.

Wisdom is a black based gold shimmer waterproof eyeliner that appears to be brown until the light hits it just right. It's very sparkly and packed with shimmers and offers a much softer look than plain black eyeliner. Formula, as with all Illamasqua Precision Inks I hear, was flawless : opaque and with a super staying power. Please be nice for my first eye swatch ever ;-)

Of course, I couldn't resist sharing with you all of the looks and beautiful models of the Generation Q collection!
