Among the amazing blogs that don't get enough attention, Kirsten's isn't the least deserving. She has crystal crisp swatches and a very enthusiastic writing style, probably one of the most important qualities for a blogger : passion!
Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be sharing a manicure with Sam's awesome readers - when she asked me to do a guest post I was so flattered... and nervous! Her pictures are always breathtaking, I've learned a lot from her and she's so lovely and sweet! :) I thought for ages about what I wanted to do.
I finally settled on a matte manicure, because I know Sam quite likes them, but I also wanted to do something that I feel has sort of become a dominant aspect of my blog - jelly sandwiches. I'm obsessed with them - I'm dreadful at nail art and they're a great easy way to do something that people will notice! Enter a matte jelly sandwich!
I've only done a matte sandwich one other time but I loved the results so I knew I had to try again. I decided to go with orange, because I love orange (despite being told it looks awful on me!) and I knew right away that I had to use one of the new China Glaze Hunger Games polishes as my glitter. I just got them in the mail on Friday and I was so excited - it's a beautiful collection, isn't it? This manicure is two coats of OPI Y'all Come Back, Ya Hear?, which is one of my favourite jellies, one coat of China Glaze Electrify (did you guys ever watch Pokemon? Electrify reminds me of Moltres, which is strange because it's named for the electrical district... anyway!), another coat of Y'all Come Back, Ya Hear? and then two coats of China Glaze Matte Magic, because I wanted it to be super matte. I thought it looked so cool... I love using fire colours! :)
The first two pictures are in the weak Canadian winter sunlight and the last two are in the shade.
So there you have it! What do you lovelies think? I really hope you all enjoyed my guest post and thank you so much for having me, Sam!
I knew it! You swatches are to die for Kirsten. And I totally get your love for orange, I'm a relatively new orange lover myself, such a bright and happy color. Thank you so much for this beautiful post!♥
