I have another fantastic indie brand to show you today. I recently received a large package from the very lovely Carrie from Contrary Polish. I have lots of polishes to share with you, but have split them up into posts with four polishes at a time.
There are only a handful of indie brands that don't focus of creating glitter bombs. Contrary Polish is one of those. All of the Contrary Polishes are amazing shimmery polishes that can all be worn on their own. I have huge respect for anyone that hand mixes polishes using pigments and mica's. If you have ever tried it yourself you will know that it can be really hit and miss and you often have to spend a fair bit of effort grinding the pigments down to ensure they are fine enough for smooth application. So with that said, I have to say I'm really impressed with the first four shades I tried, they are all smooth and glided on beautifully.
These first two polishes make up the Limited Edition Fall polishes.
Bonfire is a rusty orange leaning red jelly with a red, gold and brown shimmer and micro glitter. This is two coats and a coat of Seche Vite top coat. The first coat looks a little pink, but the second coat brings out the beautiful burnt orange. Just amazing and so saturated for a red jelly.

Hayride is polish that is right up my alley. A sandy tan base with gold, bronze and brown shimmer and micro glitter. I thought this one might be sheer, but it only needed two coats for opacity. Although this is a Fall polish, I can see me wearing this one year round.
These next two polishes are both from Contrary Polishes first collection.
Creeping Moss is such a hard colour for me to describe. It's a smokey brown that leans green and it has a predominantly pink and copper shimmer, although I also see little green sparks of shimmer too. This is two coats Creeping Moss and one coat Seche Vite shown in full sun.
Finally for today, here is Gilded Oak. This one was slightly sheerer than the others, but is still perfect at two coats. It has a purply red leaning brown base with a multi-coloured shimmer. Although there are lots of different colours in the shimmer it glows with rich golden hues.
I selected these shades for my first post because they all seemed like such perfect Fall colours. Of course it is Spring here in Australia, so the next Contrary polish post with feature the gorgeous blue shades.
Another thing I love about this brand is how the full sized bottles and the mini bottles match in shape. The bottle shape is like the TKB Justine minis, but I've not seen that shape in full sized bottles - and I like it!
Contrary Polishes are available from either Llarowe in the USA or Shoppe-Eclecticco in Singapore. Minis are also available through the Contrary Polish blog. Carrie tells me she recently sent new stock to both shops, so look out for restocks and all colours soon.
These polishes were provided for review.
