An Almost Rainbow of Butterflies

Today's mani which I did about a week ago, started out as an experiment. I had never stamped with more than one colour before and I wanted to find out how easy or difficult it is because I like the final results so much. It turns out, it's quite simple and not very messy as long as you work fast (if you are using regular polish).

The 3 colours I used are very cheap polishes (I don't like to waste my good polish on stamping) and I think it came out really well. The colours are vivid and show enough for my liking. I got quite a few compliments on this mani. A few people asked me if I was wearing stickers or press-ons, so I guess that's a compliment. At one point I just said yes after I tried to explain to the first girl that it's all polish and stamped with 3 different colours. She looked confused and sceptical!

Black and White Challenge Day 6: Color base with White

The 'Skittle mani' is not a style I sport very often. I think it's due to my obsession with evenness and symmetry! Nevertheless, I decided to give it a go today when I couldn't decide which pretty pastel I wanted to use on my nails and I really love the result. I'm really taken with pastels and I think the love is fueled by my desperation for summer's return after I was given a taste of it the a few weeks back when we had a few days of sunshine!

I've been doing too much online shopping this week and I have my eye on some jewellery from Fresh Trends. I'm a bit of a piercing junkie and I had my anti-helix pierced a few weeks ago as a little birthday present to myself! For whatever reason I didn't get a chance to mention it at the time but you can see it here!  I had no idea about all the amazing jewellery you can get for the more uncommon piercings like my new addition. I think this is gonna have to go in my rook piercing on the other ear!

Liberty's Butterflies

I really felt like I needed to add something else to my nails today. I could no longer stand Mavala Liberty's lack of colour. My hands just looked so pale with this polish.

So, before I left for work today, I tried to make it a little more interesting and inadvertently created a spring looking mani.

I sponged half the nail with Rimmel London Apricot Punch and stamped with Konad White and BM205. I also added some New York Summer glitter (I think this one is called Las Vegas??) but in hindsight I should have probably left this out. It looks like the butterflies are being attacked by a swarm of insects. Lol!

I Try

Well today's been busy considering I had a lovely lie in and didn't wake up until the afternoon! I spent most of the day tidying and cleaning so I'll be in love with my bedroom for a little while until it starts getting messy again!

I filmed two YouTube videos this evening but my computer is rejecting both of them. They start playing but at a certain point, the software just gives in and shuts down. This has happened with 2 videos I filmed in the past as well which leads me to think the videos are corrupted. It's très frustrating and I'm thinking I might have to get a new camcorder :(

12 Days of Christmas Nails: Day 5... This Old Thing

Today's Christmas nails are inspired by the always favourite tacky Christmas jumper! Enjoy!

I used Barry M Raspberry as my base colour then shuffled through all my plates to find some Christmassy designs and settled on Bundle Monster plates BM205 and BM14 stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Whirlwind White.
I used white acrylic paint for the little details and also to colour in a few of the stamped designs to make them 'pop'!

♪♫ This could really be a good life...

This week is shaping up to be a very very good one! I had a job interview yesterday for a Christmas temporary position as a sales girl in a record shop which I nailed so I'll be starting that next week. Then today, I got a call from another job I applied for which is basically a Chalet Girl position but without the Alps! It's live-in so it also means I'll be able to move out of parents' place for a while. I have to go for an interview/trial kind of thing this Sunday and if I'm successful, I'll start in January - I'll keep you guys posted on that!

And to top it all off, this blog hit 2000 followers today! Thank you all so much for reading and following! I hope I say it often enough but I really don't think I could say it enough. It means the world to me that you all like my little piece of the internet enough to keep coming back and showing your support. THANK YOU!

Today is a Wednesday so here comes the pink!

Autumn is here to stay now!

Here is somewhat of an autumn mani...finally!!! I've been meaning to post it for so long but then it got hot here again in late September/ early October so it seemed a little out of place. Now it's definitely cold again! Brrrr!

This was based on a post that nihrida did as her entry for an autumn nail art contest back in 2009.
I used yesterday's Kleancolor Cappuccino as a base, some sponging and bm205. It gave me a chance to do some stamping which didn't turn into a complete failure...my stamping abilities are usually mediocre!

Daisy Daisy...

I always feel so guilty when I go more than one or two days without posting. It's blogging withdrawal! I can't concentrate because all I'm thinking about is when I'll have time for all the photographing and editing and writing.
Do any of you other bloggers get this way? I'm not complaining though, I love being dedicated to my blog. It's the only serious commitment I have in my life at the moment!

I've had an awesome bank holiday weekend so far. I've been on an open top bus tour, partied with my old school friends and had some alone time strolling around the shops where I found some incredible bargains. Today I'm off to my aunt's house for her birthday lunch and then heading in to the city for my friends birthday meal. I wish my life was always this exciting!

My favourite bargain from my Sunday shopping trip was some white Wet N Wild polish which has kind of solved my stamping dilemma for the time being. Wet N Wild products aren't really sold anywhere here, the only place I've ever found them is in bargain or end-of-line stores so my jaw literally hit the floor when I spotted a few dozen of these on the shelf. I still have a lemming for that Sally Hansen Whirlwind White though! Thank you for all the help you guys gave me with that, you know who you are ;)
