Pink Wednesday: Get Your Pink Papers!

It's been an age since you saw any pink here and even longer since it was a Pink Wednesday so I thought I'd crack out my trusty Rimmel pink and finally try out this stamp. I've always loved newspaper nail art but never managed to successfully recreate it myself so this stamp has had me very excited. I think it's a pretty good alternative to the real thing!

The base colour is quite possibly my favourite pink - Rimmel Urban Princess - and I used Bundle Monster plate BM311 with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Whirlwind White.

Pink Wednesday: Biker Barbie

It may be quite obvious to you by now that I'm going through a phase of decorating my nails with metal! Using chains is an idea I've had for a while but I didn't know where to get my hands on a chain small and light enough that I could stick to my nails. I looked on a few nail art supply sites but the only 'chains' I could find were not really very chainy - more like wire with small intermittent balls.

So I'd almost given up on that idea when a package from BuyInCoins.com (such an amazing site you should really check it out) fell through my front door.
I'd ordered this necklace but the pendant was a bit malformed though I wasn't too worried because it was an absolute bargain at less than $1. Then I had a brainwave, the chain was the perfect size for adorning my nails. So here we are!

Before I even started with any polish, I measured out the chains by holding the necklace up to my nail and counting how many links each nail needed. I cut off what I needed using wire cutters/pliers and laid them out  on the desk in order.

My base colour is two coats of Nails Inc Paris (for Diet Coke). I waited for this to dry then slicked on a coat of NYC In A New York Minute. I waited a few seconds for this to get tacky and used the Mash Tweezers to carefully place the chain along the tip of my nail.
When everything was dry and securely in place, I added another top coat of NYC In A New York Minute.

Stud Up! Day 4: Pink(Stud)Wednesday

The base colour I used today is a franken that I made absolutely ages ago after I saw an OPI polish that was pink with a golden shimmer. The golden shimmer in mine is now looking like flakies and I like it!

Since last week's framed nails post, I've been informed that the outline idea comes from Madeleine Pool. Doing it with studs reminds me of one of those vanity mirrors with light bulbs around the edge. Or those old movie theatre signs.

The base colour is a franken which needed two coats. I let that dry and cleaned up around my cuticles with a small paintbrush and acetone. Then I added a clear top coat and placed on the studs using a toothpick dipped in clear polish to make the end sticky. Finally I added a top coat of NYC In A New York Minute.

Give 'Em The Old Razzle Dazzle

I've been digitally absent for a few days bar the occasional tweet and it was nice to have a little break from my online commitments but I'm back with a vengeance and I have so many new polishes to show you.

It's a Wednesday which of course means pink!! This pretty pink glitter is Pam of Girly Bits' creation. Pam started out as a nail blogger and has taken her hobby one step further and set about mixing all the colours she'd been dreaming of owning but couldn't find on the shelves.

The polish I'm using today is called Razzle Dazzle and it's a pink jelly filled with pink and purple glitter. It works best for layering but three coats gives good enough coverage to wear it on its own.

Ring finger: BYS Tickle Me Pink and two coats of Girly Bits Razzle Dazzle*
Other fingers: BYS Tickle Me Pink and Girly Bits Razzle Dazzle* sponged on to the tips

Pam's shop will be reopening on February 25th with her new collection and all previously available polishes will also be for sale. You can order them directly from Pam, all the information is here.

*Product was sent for consideration. For more information, see my disclaimer.

Rimmel Urban Princess - Pink Wednesday!!

Pink is out of my comfort zone but I love Pink Wednesdays for making me wear it! This pink falls way way outside of my comfort zone but as soon as it's on my nails I feel like I need to put my hair in pigtails and giggle excessively. It's so cute and bubblegummy!

♪♫ This could really be a good life...

This week is shaping up to be a very very good one! I had a job interview yesterday for a Christmas temporary position as a sales girl in a record shop which I nailed so I'll be starting that next week. Then today, I got a call from another job I applied for which is basically a Chalet Girl position but without the Alps! It's live-in so it also means I'll be able to move out of parents' place for a while. I have to go for an interview/trial kind of thing this Sunday and if I'm successful, I'll start in January - I'll keep you guys posted on that!

And to top it all off, this blog hit 2000 followers today! Thank you all so much for reading and following! I hope I say it often enough but I really don't think I could say it enough. It means the world to me that you all like my little piece of the internet enough to keep coming back and showing your support. THANK YOU!

Today is a Wednesday so here comes the pink!

Day 10: Gradient Nails

Today's challenge is gradient nails and it's also Wednesday which means PINK. Sorry for the brief post but I have such a busy day ahead, I even had to get up a little early to schedule this because I won't have another spare minute today between work and evening plans. I'm going to see Charlie Simpson tonight which is super exciting!

Don't forget to check out Cristina and Rie's gradient nails too!
