It might be while before my next blog post. I'm wearing this mani now and I can't see me taking it off any time soon! (and nope, I don't have any backup photos to post, I like to run the thin line baby!).
This is Lynnderella's One Nutty Fruitcake. Now tune the mic cause I'm about to sound like a broken record as I say ... I love this polish, it's truly amazing and so unique. It's unique because it's almost all square glitter not hex. I don't know of any commercial polish that is made up with this much square glitter. In fact I don't know of any commercial polish that has this many different colours either.
There is also lots of multicoloured micro glitter that is hard to see because of the density of the glitter, but it can be seen easily the in macro shot.
This is two coats of One Nutty Fruitcake layered over Sally Hansen Celeb City (which is a silver foil). It's topped with one layer of Seche Vite, one layer of glitter tamer and one layer of Ulta3 Non chip. It's shiny and glossy and chunky with crazy glitter all at the same time.
- Shake your bottle well to loosen up the glitter on the edges
- Undo your bottle and get the brush out. The first time it comes out it practically has no glitter on it at all. Don't worry about that, but just wave the brush around for a bit, or blow on it, for it to become a little tacky.
- Dip the brush back in and try to scoop up some glitter by holding the bottle on an angle. You will need to do this less and less as you do your mani, because the brush seems to get tackier as you go and the polish thickens a little.
- Try not to wipe the polish off the brush as you lift it out of the bottle. If you have to, only wipe one side.
- Lay the side with the most glitter down flat onto your nail. Most of the glitter will just come straight off the brush onto your nail.
- Use the brush to gently massage and push the glitter around on the nail, separating bits that are stuck together. Think of it as dabbling the paint around.
- Most importantly, do not wipe the brush down your nail like you would with a regular polish, because this will just drag the glitter off.
So is anyone interested in a tutorial (with pics) on how I apply a glitter like this, or is the above explanation enough?
