China Glaze Summer Neons Swatches & Review Part I

Summers collections are my favorite collections of the year!
Actually I should say neon collections. And although I know I've probably already said the same thing about the vampy Fall/Winter, sparkly Holiday or mysterious Halloween releases, there's just something about these eye-searing shades that instantly brightens my mood.

Let's begin with the first part of the review with :
  • Under the Broadwalk
  • Beach Cruise-R
  • Orange you Hot
  • Sun Kissed
  • I'm with the Lifeguard
  • Splish Splash
  • Ride the Waves

Under the Broadwalk is a very bright magenta jelly. It's a beautiful, happy, shade and has the most perfectly even formula ever. I used two coats here but you might need three. It's super glossy on its own so no topcoat in these swatches.

Beach Cruise-R is another magenta but a tad lighter than Under the Broadwalk. It also has a nice bluish shimmer that makes it look cooler. Formula was even better, probably the best of the entire collection, perfect consistency and regular coverage. You're looking at 2 coats plus topcoat.

Orange you Hot is as its name suggests a hot orange LOL. Rather yellow based and bery bright. Another gorgeous orange this year but a shimmer this time. Formula was, again, amazing at 2 coats.

Sun Kissed is your typical highlighter yellow. I don't think it could get any more neon than this and truth be told, I never thought I'd actually wear such color on my nails but after a couple of minutes, I got used to it and actually enjoyed it very much. It's eye-searing and so saturated! The shimmer definitely adds another dimension. Formula was a bit thicker than the others and I think you might need 3 coats for a perfect "non streaky" look. I used 2 very careful coat here.

I'm with the Lifeguard is a lime green shimmer neon. It has the same consistency as Sun Kissed, a bit on the thick side that is, but zero streakiness. This is 2 coats.

Splish Splash is a beautiful Superman blue blue shimmer. I'm not sure this qualifies as a neon but it's a gorgeous color nonetheless and a self-levelling 2 coater!

Ride the Waves is completely different from Splish Splash. It's a truly amazing Royal blue jelly but a bit too sheer I'd say. I used 3 coats here and I could still see a tiny bit of visible nail line but I couldn't find it in me to apply a fourth. Drying time was good but not as fast drying as the neons ;-)

And here are a couple of comparisons :
